Girls' Generation member Yuri is gaining attention for the way she decided to celebrate her birthday, due to COVID-19. To make up for the isolation, the Oh!GG member decided to celebrate it with her staff in one of the episodes for "Yuri's Winning Recipe".
Besides having cake, Yuri also made seaweed birthday soup for herself, which she also shared with other staff, one of which also had her birthday that day. After making some jokes about how she is going to spend her birthday alone, Yuri shared that it felt appropriate to do it due to the hard time everyone is going through because of COVID-19.
After celebrating and being done with her work for the day. Yuri was called to the subway to see her birthday gift and to her surprise, she saw multiple ads to celebrate her birthday by SONE and Mandus. The idol-actress was very thankful to her fans, so she made sure to go and take a picture next to all of the ads made for her birthday and shared it on Youtube!
Yuri also received praise for wearing her mask at all times, even outside when she is filming, which many celebrities have been criticized for not doing despite the spikes in COVID-19 cases.
