Here is why senior K-POP groups don't promote as actively as rookies do!

If you are clicking on this article, chances are you have a favorite senior K-POP group. You might also have a favorite rookie group and are constantly comparing them. Well, here I am to tell you that it's pointless comparing, because sooner or later rookie becomes a senior unless they disband early. Here is why seniors are less active:

- Health reasons.

During their rookie days(0-3rd year including), idols live with multiple people in one room, share a bathroom and even argue for food because they are really hungry. All this and way more damages their health both mentally and physically, which is the reason why they can't do this for a long time. Senior idols later reveal that the idol career, even if they hit big or not, has caused them to have insomnia or eating disorders leading to depression and suicidal thoughts. That is why no celebrity would consider having the same promotion schedule and activity as their early days. Most idols know the life of a rookie, so they are not greedy for charts and sales, like their fans think they are but they could feel guilt because they start to not live up to the fans expectations even if what they are already doing is too much work. The fact is that fans, especially international K-POP fans, see only 20% of the effort idols put in their work. So I can assure you none of the legendary groups you know of would want to live as they did during their most heavy promotions or peaks or to compete with groups that work 24/7 because it's impossible(unless they promote long term on TV variety shows like Refund sisters). Senior idols at some point want to enjoy life and work at the same time like regular people and with regular working hours(schedules for them).

-Privacy, relationships, indiviadualty and life goals.

To fans every comeback feels like it has been after 100 years when most of the time its 1 year or 2 at most since seniors often do hiatuses to try solo careers. For senior idols of which most are 30 or even 40 relationships and family are very important. For fans an idol group who is in their 7th year still feels like they debuted yesterday for the idols it feels way longer than that since they almost work 24/7 and have a hard time to tell how much time has passed by. Since most of them have sacrificed their teens or early twenty they are way behind on relationships and they can be obviously very lonely. Senior idols want to keep working in the industry since that is what they have done since teens and young adults but want to also build families and relationships which is impossible if all members and managers live together. Individuality and privacy is something idols consider luxury which is why you see celebrities who looked and blended in together as a group at some point start looking different because the freedom they have started receiving from their agency. Fans should remember that groups consist of many people on average 6 who all have different life goals at some point in their life like marriage, kids or if not that maybe they will want to work in another field too like acting and business but still release top quality music with their fans.
